In an Inventory Control Specialist job you’ll be responsible for:
Monitoring, tracking, and reconciling raw materials, WIP (work-in-process), and finished goods inventory to maintain accurate daily stock levels.
Conduct cycle counts, root-cause investigations, and variance analyses to identify and address discrepancies.
Ensure all materials are properly labeled, rotated, and stored according to food safety standards, GMPs, and FIFO/FEFO protocols.
Coordinating with production, procurement, and warehouse teams to forecast material needs and prevent shortages or overstock situations.
Maintaining accurate data entry within warehouse computerized system.
Overseeing receiving and put-away processes to verify quantities, quality, and compliance with food regulatory requirements.
Collaborating with QA/QC teams to quarantine, document, and dispose of non-conforming materials.
Preparing and distributing daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports for leadership and audits.
Supporting inventory preparation for internal and external audits, including USDA, FDA, SQF, and third-party verifications.
Optimizing warehouse layout, storage methods, and material flow to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
Enforcing safety and sanitation standards in alignment with OSHA and food-grade manufacturing guidelines.
What you’ll need: 1.Experience in food industry, with inventory control background. 2. Must have excellent communication skills. 3. Must have strong multi-tasking skills and the ability to work in cross functional situations.
