Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled ICP Technician to join our Quality Laboratory team in Conroe, TX. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who can step in with minimal training and immediately contribute to laboratory operations. The ICP Technician will be responsible for performing advanced chemical analyses, supporting quality control processes, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of laboratory data. This position requires strong expertise in ICP-MS and ICP-OES, along with a solid background in analytical chemistry, data analysis, and laboratory best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine and non-routine QC sample analysis using ICP-MS and ICP-OES, and accurately post results in SAP
Review analytical data for accuracy, identify errors, and report out-of-spec (OOS) or out-of-trend (OOT) results
Serve as a subject matter expert for ICP instrumentation and lab processes
Maintain and improve laboratory procedures for both clean room and wet lab environments
Ensure all lab equipment is calibrated, standardized, and compliant with maintenance requirements
Provide technical guidance and informal leadership to lab technicians
Utilize statistical tools (e.g., Minitab, SQC/SPC methods) to analyze trends and support process improvements
Lead or support investigations related to non-conformance events using 8D methodology
Collaborate with production, engineering, and R&D teams to support new product introductions and process improvements
Support continuous improvement initiatives, including automation and digitalization projects
Maintain inventory of lab supplies, reagents, and gases
Qualifications Required:
Strong hands-on experience with ICP-MS and ICP-OES (this is a must-have)
Proven ability to work independently with little to no supervision
Experience in a QC or analytical laboratory environment
Strong understanding of metrology, calibration, and lab instrumentation
Proficiency in data analysis and statistical tools
Familiarity with SAP or similar LIMS systems
Knowledge of ISO standards (e.g., ISO 17025)
Strong problem-solving and investigation skills
Preferred:
Experience with techniques such as XRF, AA, or particle analysis
Background supporting manufacturing or chemical production environments
Experience with Gage R&R, SPC, and process validation
