ICP Chemist Location: Conroe, TX Pay: ~$35/hour Job Summary We are seeking an experienced ICP Chemist to support quality testing in a manufacturing laboratory in Conroe, TX. This role focuses on ICP-MS and ICP-OES analysis, data review, and maintaining high standards for product quality, safety, and compliance. The ideal candidate can work independently, support lab technicians, and provide strong technical expertise in analytical chemistry.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine and non-routine quality control testing using ICP-MS and ICP-OES
Review, verify, and approve test results before entry into SAP
Identify and report out-of-spec (OOS), out-of-trend (OOT), and non-conforming results
Support and maintain lab procedures in Clean Room and Wet Lab environments
Serve as a technical resource for lab technicians; provide training and guidance
Ensure lab instruments are calibrated, maintained, and compliant with quality standards
Apply statistical tools (Minitab, SPC, Gage R&R) for data analysis and quality improvement
Support production and engineering teams with technical data and troubleshooting
Participate in continuous improvement, automation, and digitalization projects
Support special testing requests and advanced analytical work
Assist with new product introductions and technology transfers
Lead or support investigations using 8D methodology and prepare reports
Manage laboratory supplies, standards, and gases
Follow all safety, health, and environmental requirements
Qualifications
Hands-on experience with ICP-MS and ICP-OES
Strong background in analytical chemistry and quality control
Experience working in a manufacturing or QC laboratory
Knowledge of ISO 17025 or similar quality standards
Strong math, data analysis, and statistical skills
Experience with SAP and statistical software (Minitab preferred)
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong communication and teamwork skills
