HVAC Quality Control Specialist

Temp-to-Hire | Houston, TX

Pay: $23.00 to $26.00 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 10-hour shifts (40+ hours + overtime)
Shift Options: As early as 6:00 AM start or rotating shift (Noon – 10:30 PM)

Openwork is hiring an experienced HVAC Quality Control Specialist to support a respected HVAC manufacturing operation in Houston. This role is critical to ensuring every project meets the highest standards of accuracy, compliance, and performance.

If you have a strong HVAC background and take pride in doing things right the first time, this is an opportunity to play a key role in maintaining quality across production and operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review drawings, specifications, submittals, and change orders for accuracy and completeness

  • Ensure compliance with company standards, manufacturer guidelines, and applicable codes

  • Conduct routine quality audits and track corrective actions

  • Perform walkthroughs to monitor production and identify issues

  • Partner with internal teams and vendors to resolve quality concerns

  • Maintain accurate documentation and audit records

  • Provide feedback and coaching to improve consistency and performance

  • Support audits and continuous improvement efforts

Qualifications
  • HVAC systems knowledge and hands-on experience

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in quality control, quality assurance, or a related role

  • Strong attention to detail and organization

  • Ability to interpret technical documents and drawings

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • Technical or vocational training is a plus

  • Minimum of 2+ years of related experience required

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors

  • Ability to stand and move for extended periods

  • Ability to climb ladders and access equipment

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
