Openwork is currently engaged in a search to find a Hostess to join a dedicated Hospital Food Services Team in the Austin area.
In this role, you’ll be the welcoming face of the hospital dining area, assisting patients, visitors, and staff with meal orders while supporting a clean, safe, and friendly environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone dependable, personable, and eager to make a meaningful impact in a healthcare setting. Full training will be provided — no prior experience required!

As a Hostess, you’ll be responsible for:

• Greeting and assisting patients, visitors, and staff in the dining area

• Taking and entering food orders accurately and efficiently

• Supporting the food service team to ensure timely and friendly service

• Following strict infection control and food safety protocols

• Assisting with light cleaning and organization of the dining area

• Collaborating with team members to maintain a smooth and welcoming operation

• Providing exceptional customer service with a positive attitude

What you’ll need:

• Proof of full vaccination records, including:

  • Mumps

  • Measles

  • Rubella

  • Polio

  • Tetanus and Diphtheria Toxoids

  • Pertussis

  • Haemophilus influenzae type B

  • Hepatitis B

• Recent negative TB test

• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light lifting (up to 25 lbs)

• Ability to pass a background check

• Reliable transportation and punctuality for flexible scheduling

• Willingness to work on varying days and hours (some weeks 3 days, some weeks 4)

• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset

• Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus!
