Position Summary
Openwork is hiring General Labor Associates for a growing industrial client in the Houston area. This is a hands-on position ideal for dependable individuals who enjoy working with tools and are interested in learning new skills. No prior rigging experience is required—the client will provide training on rope splicing and other specialized tasks.
The ideal candidate is bilingual in English and Spanish, mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and committed to working safely in a production environment.
Responsibilities
- Use a variety of small and large hand tools safely and effectively.
- Accurately read and use a measuring tape.
- Learn rope splicing techniques through on-the-job training.
- Assist with assembling and preparing wire rope and rigging products.
- Inspect materials for quality and accuracy.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures and work instructions.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily production goals.
Qualifications
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is required.
- Ability to accurately read a measuring tape.
- Comfortable using hand tools and performing physical, hands-on work.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Reliable attendance and a positive work ethic.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work on your feet throughout the shift.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous warehouse, manufacturing, construction, or general labor experience is a plus, but not required.
- Experience using hand tools is preferred.
