Now Hiring: Forklift Operator - 1st Shift
Location: Houston, TX | 77051 
Pay: $18-$20/hour
Schedule: 5:-00am - 3:00pm

Openwork is currently seeking several dependable Forklift operators for a well-established pipe, valve, flange company in Houston. 

What You'll Be Doing: 
  • Material Handling & Equipment Operation: Safely operate sit-down forklifts, side-loaders, or related industrial trucks to transport, stack, and move long or heavy pipe inventory.

  • Shipping & Receiving: Unload incoming freight, verify shipment counts against documentation, check incoming stock for damage, and prepare outbound orders for transit.

  • Inventory & Rack Management: Sort, rack, bin, or align steel pipe products according to company standards and location tagging.

  • Order Fulfillment: Accurately pull and package customer orders from stock according to pick sheets or supervisor directives.
    High volume (40 SKUS in 5-6 hour window)

  • Facility Maintenance & Safety: Maintain a clean, hazard-free environment across workstations, aisles, and storage bays; strictly adhere to OSHA guidelines and company safety policies.

  • Equipment Inspection: Conduct pre-shift inspects on machinery, reporting maintenance issues or damages promptly.



What We're Looking For: 
• Bilingual; Spanish and English, preferred (ability to communicate effectively with warehouse personnel in both languages).
Spanish Speaking only welcome 
• Experience with heavy duty forklifts: Hyster, Taylor, "Big Red," Combilift, side-loaders (25k a plus)
• Moderate math and analytical skills
• Good communication skills.
• Experience with/Product knowledge with Flanges, Fittings and Pipe is a plus
• Excellent work ethic: ability to work self-directed and as a flexible team player
• Computer skills
• Strong attention to detail – research inventory discrepancies and reconcile inventory.
• Ability to multitask.
• Self-stater and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, climb and move about the facility.
• Ability to occasionally lift to 50 lbs.
• Basic computer skills (data entry using a laptop).
• Available to work overtime if necessary, including Saturdays.
• Qualified applicants must be able to pass a background check and drug test.

Physical demands and abilities:
• Experience on Sit-Down Forklift, Stand-up Reach Truck or Picker preferred.
• Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
• Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50 lbs. occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 lbs.
• Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
• Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.
