Openwork is currently engaged in a search to find a skilled Fabrication Technician in Gainesville. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the production of cleanroom panels, doors, frames, and custom metal components. In a Fabrication Technician job you’ll be responsible for:
- Performing MIG and TIG welding on stainless steel, aluminum, and mild steel
- Performing laser welding as needed
- Grinding and polishing welded components to a clean architectural finish
- Fabricating frames, brackets, door components, and custom assemblies
- Setting up tooling and running programmed parts
- Verifying bend accuracy, part tolerances, and dimensional accuracy
- Reading and interpreting shop drawings
- Selecting proper materials based on drawings
- Tracking and communicating material inventory needs
- Reporting equipment or safety concerns
What you’ll need:
- 2+ years of fabrication experience preferred
- MIG and TIG welding experience preferred
- CNC laser, press brake, and CNC mill experience preferred
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings
- Ability to work safely and produce clean, accurate work
