Agency Background Role – Overview

This position supports independent title agencies by performing escrow and title functions in a centralized, back-office environment. Unlike a traditional retail Escrow Officer role, this position does not involve consumer-facing sales, branch production goals, or commission pressure.

The Escrow Officer – Agency Background works behind the scenes to ensure files are accurate, compliant, and fully cleared for closing, serving as an expert resource for agency partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage escrow files from open to close on behalf of independent title agencies

• Review title commitments, escrow instructions, and closing documents for accuracy

• Identify, research, and resolve title issues, defects, and discrepancies

• Perform curative work to clear title requirements prior to closing

• Coordinate with title agents, underwriters, lenders, and internal teams

• Prepare and review settlement statements and closing packages

• Respond to inbound inquiries through a centralized call center environment

• Maintain complete and accurate file documentation within Resware

• Ensure compliance with state regulations, underwriting guidelines, and company policies

Qualifications

• Prior experience as an Escrow Officer, Senior Escrow Assistant, or similar role

• Background working within a title agency or title insurance environment

• Strong understanding of escrow, title, and closing processes

• Resware experience required

• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills

• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team

• Professional communication skills and a service-oriented mindset
