Are you looking for a short-term role where you can get out in the field, work with innovative tools, and make a difference in your community? Openwork, in partnership with the Harris County Clerk’s Office, is hiring Election Day Surveyors — and we’d love for you to join the team.

This is your chance to help ensure every Harris County polling place is accessible, compliant, and welcoming to voters of all abilities. As a Surveyor, you’ll be the eyes and ears on the ground, conducting hands-on assessments, offering guidance, and capturing real-time data that helps shape a better voting experience.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct on-site accessibility checks at polling places

• Use a county-issued iPad and tools to collect and log findings

• Take and label photos of any accessibility concerns

• Collaborate with election judges to suggest immediate remedies

• Support the county’s ADA compliance team throughout the assignment

What You Bring

• Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation

• Comfort using an iPad and basic measuring tools

• Strong communication skills and ability to work with a partner

• Clear writing ability and attention to detail

• Physical ability to lift up to 35 pounds and kneel or bend for measurements

• Willingness to work outdoors for extended periods, in various weather conditions

Schedule & Pay

• Monday, November 3, 2025: 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM

• Tuesday, November 4, 2025: 6:00 AM – 7:00 PM

• Pay: $17.00/hour
