Meador an Openwork Company is currently engaged in a search to find a
direct hire EHS Specialist for a company located in
Stone Mountain (30083). In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs across multiple locations within an assigned region. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while promoting a strong safety culture and reducing workplace risk.
As an
EHS SPECIALIST you’ll be responsible for:

Serve as the primary EHS point of contact for assigned regional facilities

Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable state/local regulations

Conduct site audits, inspections, and risk assessments; track and close corrective actions

Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs

Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions

Support emergency preparedness planning and response activities

Deliver EHS training (new hire, refresher, and specialized safety training)

Monitor and report key EHS metrics (injury rates, near misses, environmental data)

Partner with operations and leadership to integrate safety into daily activities

Manage regulatory reporting, permits, and documentation

Support workers’ compensation claims and return-to-work programs

Travel regularly to regional sites as required
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or related field
- 3–5 years of EHS experience, preferably in a multi-site or regional role
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations
- Ability to travel up to 60% depending on region
