Meador an Openwork Company is currently engaged in a search to find a qualified Digital Printer/Vinyl Cut Operator in Houston, TX. Apply today if you meet the qualifications listed below.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Digital Printing
Operate digital largeformat printers, and related finishing equipment.
Prepare artwork and print files, ensuring correct sizing, resolution, color profiles, and layout.
Perform routine color calibration and machine maintenance to maintain output quality.
Inspect printed materials for accuracy, color consistency, and defects.
Manage print queues and prioritize jobs based on deadlines.
Vinyl Cutting & Production
Set up and run vinyl cutters to produce lettering, decals, signage, and custom graphics.
Weed vinyl graphics with precision and apply transfer tapes as required.
Operate laminators and other finishing tools to prepare materials for installation or shipment.
Ensure proper material handling, including loading rolls, tracking inventory, and reducing
waste.
File Preparation & Design Support
Work with vector and raster artwork using software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or
similar design tools.
Troubleshoot design or file issues to ensure compatibility with printing and cutting equipment.
Collaborate with designers, sales staff, and customers to clarify specifications when needed.
Quality Control & Workflow Management
Review project instructions and confirm requirements before beginning production.
Ensure all finished products meet company quality standards before packaging or installation.
Maintain an organized, clean workspace and follow all safety protocols.
Track materials, report low inventory, and assist with routine equipment maintenance.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience with digital printing equipment (largeformat preferred) and flatbed or roll vinyl cutting machines.
Strong knowledge of print production processes, materials, and finishing techniques.
Proficiency with graphic design software (Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent).
Excellent attention to detail, color accuracy, and craftsmanship.
Ability to lift and move materials/rolls up to 40–50 lbs.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior sign shop, print shop, or production environment experience.
Familiarity with RIP software (Onyx, Firey, etc.).
Additional Information: Location: Houston, TX 77040 Pay Rate: $18-$20 p/h Schedule: MAY VARY FROM M-F, 6:00AM-3PM
