Meador an Openwork Company is currently engaged in a search to find a CONTRACT-TO-HIRE Cost Accountant in the South Houston area (77048) that is eager to work. This role will be responsible for analyzing cost data, supporting financial reporting, ensuring accurate labor tracking, and managing the billing process to customers.
As a Cost Accountant you’ll be responsible for:
Analyze and maintain standard costs, including labor, materials, and overhead
Monitor cost variances and provide detailed analysis and recommendations
Support month-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations
Prepare cost reports and assist in financial statement preparation
Partner with operations to improve cost efficiency and controls
Oversee and maintain timekeeping systems to ensure accurate labor tracking
Prepare and process accurate and timely customer invoices based on contracts, time, and materials
Review billing data for accuracy, including labor hours, rates, and expenses
What you’ll need:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
Heavy experience in cost accounting
Intermediate to advanced Excel knowledge
Perks:
$75K-$90K
9-80 schedule
