CONTROLLER – Industrial Manufacturing Facility - South Houston
Location: South Houston Type: Direct-Hire with Benefits! Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8-hours per day Pay: $145K-$165K salaries
Position Overview
This role is responsible for serving as the controller for an industrial manufacturing facility. This facility manufactures a variety of industrial components that are sold to oil, gas, petrochem, chem, and other key industries in the greater Gulf Coast region from Texas to Louisiana. Responsibilities include leading the accounting group, collaborating with executive leadership, and ensuring compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
Prepare and analyze financial statements, providing insights and recommendations to leadership
Oversee cost accounting, including standard costing, variance analysis, and margin improvement initiatives
Manage inventory accounting, including valuation, cycle counts, and physical inventory accuracy
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, including variance analysis
Monitor and optimize cash flow and working capital (AR, AP, inventory)
Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), internal controls, and regulatory requirements
Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and support audit readiness
Supervise, mentor, and develop a small accounting team, driving performance and accountability
Partner with operations to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support data-driven decision-making.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 5-10 years of experience in accounting/finance within an industrial setting.
Ability to work well with small local teams in a solutions-driven environment.
Proven experience supervising 3+ direct reports.
