Contracts Paralegal Assistant
Job Type: Part-time (20 hrs/week)

Pay Rate: $25–$26/hr
Location: Austin (Downtown, TX)

Meador Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented Contracts & Compliance Paralegal on behalf of our client, a public-sector organization in Austin, TX. This position will support contract administration, procurement compliance, legal research, records management, and document control functions.
This role is ideal for a paralegal or legal administrative professional with strong technical writing skills, experience reviewing legal and regulatory documents, and the ability to organize and maintain highly accurate records in a compliance-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Review contracts, procurement documents, and compliance-related records for completeness and adherence to established policies, procedures, and applicable regulations
  • Conduct legal and regulatory research, including reviewing Attorney General opinions, procurement guidance, administrative rules, and state publications
  • Draft, edit, and maintain written summaries, reports, procedural documentation, and compliance-related communications
  • Support contract administration activities, including maintaining contract files, purchase order records, amendments, and supporting documentation
  • Assist with document control and records management processes, ensuring accurate organization and retention of electronic files
  • Track contract deadlines, vendor compliance requirements, reporting obligations, and key procurement milestones
  • Support responses to Public Information Act requests by identifying, organizing, and assisting with the review and redaction of responsive records
  • Maintain procurement and contract management databases and ensure accurate recordkeeping
  • Assist with developing and updating internal procedures, forms, checklists, and documentation standards
  • Provide administrative support for procurement, contracts, and compliance functions as needed
Qualifications:
  • Paralegal certificate, legal studies coursework, or equivalent legal administrative experience preferred
  • Experience reviewing contracts, legal documents, policies, regulations, or compliance-related materials
  • Strong technical writing, editing, and written communication skills
  • Experience conducting legal, regulatory, or policy research preferred
  • Knowledge of records management, document control, or contract administration processes
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage deadlines
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately
  • Experience in government, public-sector, procurement, compliance, or legal environments preferred
