This is a
1st shift, Monday - Thursday, 5am-3:30pm,
long-term opportunity, with the potential for

Position Overview:
The
Machinist is a part of the Manufacturing Team and is responsible for the set-up and operation of multiple pieces of equipment including, but not limited to, engine lathes, milling machines, CNC lathe, keyway machine in order to produce the highest quality products to meet customer requirements.
Responsibilities include
- Operating and processing parts effectively and efficiently according to print and traveler requirements
- Monitoring machine performance and utilization
- Understanding setup and safe operation of multiple pieces of equipment including, but not limited to, engine lathes, milling machines, CNC lathe, keyway machine
- Safely operating overhead crane, forklift, grinders, drills, and other hand tools required for the job
- Diagnosing machining problems while performing jobs, making modifications as needed
- Checking quality of product machined and notify supervisor of dimensional issues
- Performing operator maintenance and/or housekeeping per established schedules
- Adhering to all JMS safety procedures and regulations
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a minimum of 1 year of machining experience in a manufacturing environment
- Requires use of basic math to analyze information and measuring equipment – working with close tolerances
- Ability to work safely and efficiently
- Ability to work in a team and independently
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instruction and written processes
- Knowledge of sheet metal thicknesses and material types
- Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs – moving product off table/machine throughout the shift
- Reliable attendance and ability to work flexible work hours (standard shift 5:00am – 3:30pm, M-Th. (Friday and Saturday OT as required)
- Must be able to operate manual mill and lathe without assistance.
- Must be able to use calipers, micrometer and tape measure.
Desired Experience and Skills
- Up to 1 year working in a machine shop.
- Experience with ERP system – preferably Epicor
- CNC programming LATHES/MILL
- Experience in SolidWorks or Fusion 360
- Experience in running manual metal lathes.
Education
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
