CATEGORY SOURCING SPECIALIST (Buyer II)

Openwork is currently engaged in a search to find an exceptional Category Sourcing Specialist in the Deer Park / Channelview, TX area. In this high-impact, dynamic role, you will be responsible for leading strategic procurement initiatives across a storage terminal network and partnering with key operational leaders to drive commercial excellence and operational reliability. 

In our Category Sourcing Specialist job you’ll be responsible for:

• Developing, negotiating, and executing Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Scopes of Work (SOWs), and multi-year regional service contracts with robust SLAs and KPIs.

• Benchmarking and standardizing labor rate sheets (straight-time, overtime, per diem), equipment rental markups, and unit-rate pricing models across third-party contractor panels.

• Leading strategic sourcing initiatives across core categories including Civil & Site Infrastructure, Mechanical & Turnarounds, and Industrial & Environmental Services.

• Collaborating with leadership to align procurement roadmaps with turnarounds and shutdowns.

What you’ll need:

• 5–7+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, subcontracts administration, or contracts management within terminals, midstream oil & gas, or heavy EPC industrial environments.

• Demonstrated track record managing multi-site regional service contracts rather than transactional, plant-level purchasing.

• Strong subject-matter expertise in contracting specialized industrial field services (e.g., tank repairs, civil excavation, industrial cleaning).

• Deep commercial acumen in MSA negotiation, SOW development, claims management, and dispute resolution.

Work Schedule & Compensation:

• Pay Rate: $40.00 – $50.00/hour

• Schedule: Full-Time, Monday through Friday

• Work Arrangement: 100% On-Site (Deer Park / Channelview corridor)

• Status: Contract-to-Hire
