Meador an Openwork Company is seeking two a Temporary(3-6 months)Buyer located in the Northeast Houston area – 77029. This role will procure raw materials, finished goods, parts and services at optimum cost and delivery for the facility, in accordance with established company and divisional objectives. Develop and maintain “world class” supply chain practices and standardize best practices in the field of Procurement in all operations.
As a Buyer you’ll be responsible for:
Place PO’s timely, based on inventory management criteria, and coordinate deliveries, ensuring PO Accuracy (pricing, quantities, dates).
Order indirect materials and ensure communication with internal parties.
Send POs to vendors, obtain acknowledgments within 24–48 hours, and maintain clear communication on order status and lead times.
Track deliveries, follow up on late or at-risk orders, and update delivery dates as needed.
Maintain and update purchasing reports to ensure accurate records of placed, pending, and upcoming Pos.
Discuss defects of purchased goods with Quality Assurance or Engineering personnel to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.?
Follows up on important and urgently needed items to ensure specified delivery dates.?
Ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations issued by OSHA, EPA and federal, state and local regulatory agencies, as well as customer specifications.
What you’ll need:
5+ years of buying / procurement experience
Heavy PO experience – required
Experience using Oracle is a huge plus
Strong negotiation skills
