Openwork is hiring! We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Assembler for a local manufacturing partner in Charlotte, NC. This is a great opportunity for a mechanically inclined individual with strong attention to detail and experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Pay & Schedule
- Pay: $20–$23/hour, based on experience
- Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 5:00 AM–3:30 PM
- Overtime: Fridays as needed/required
- Location: Charlotte, NC
Job Responsibilities
- Complete multiple objectives based on direction from the Manufacturing Engineer Supervisor
- Assemble components and equipment efficiently and accurately
- Use blueprints and drawings to assemble components while paying close attention to detail
- Communicate effectively with the Manufacturing Engineer Supervisor regarding issues or concerns
- Use multi-meter equipment to test equipment, read test reports, and make adjustments as needed
- Perform routine maintenance, including lubrication and cleaning of equipment
- Assist with assigned projects and manufacturing tasks
- Maintain an organized and clean work area
- Safely operate hand tools and cranes to move large equipment
- Follow all JIMS, Inc. policies and procedures
- Assist Field Service teams at customer job sites as needed
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of mechanical assembly/manufacturing experience preferred
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- Experience with job-shop fabrication or similar manufacturing environments
- 3+ years of forklift experience preferred, particularly moving large equipment
- Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently and collaboratively on multiple projects
- Mechanically inclined with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Comfortable using hand tools, testing equipment, and material-handling equipment
