As a Window Teller, you’ll be on the front lines of public service—assisting residents with essential vehicle registration, titling, licensing, and tax services. What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll provide efficient, accurate, and courteous service to Harris County residents. Your responsibilities will include:

Customer Service at the Window

• Greet and assist customers with vehicle registration, titling, and licensing services.

• Provide clear and accurate information about requirements and procedures.

• Resolve customer inquiries with professionalism and care.

Money Handling & Cash Reconciliation

• Process transactions (cash, check, credit/debit, e-check) accurately and issue receipts.

• Balance your cash drawer daily and complete financial reports.

Data Entry & Document Verification

• Enter customer and transaction data into the state’s registration and licensing system.

• Verify the authenticity of titles, IDs, proof of ownership, and other sensitive documents.

• Use state tools and guidelines to detect and prevent fraud.

Training & Certification

• Successfully complete 8 weeks of state-required training before handling live transactions.

• Shadow senior staff and managers to gain hands-on experience.

• Apply knowledge to real-world transactions with confidence and accuracy.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or GED (required, U.S.-accredited).

• At least 6 months of  customer service with cash handling (retail, banking, or similar). - RECENT

• Minimum typing speed of 30+ WPM.

• Strong math, attention-to-detail, and data entry skills.

• Reliability, punctuality, and professionalism.

• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).

• Bonus: Bilingual in Spanish, Vietnamese, or Chinese (preferred, not required).

Position Details

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (occasional Saturdays; travel may be required).

• Pay: $15/hour, paid weekly.
