CONSTRUCTION ACCOUNTANT

Openwork is currently engaged in a search to find a dedicated Construction Staff Accountant in Pasadena, TX (77506). In this rewarding and high-impact role, you will be responsible for driving the day-to-day financial success of an established organization, collaborating directly with executive ownership on strategic initiatives, and managing full-cycle accounting functions.

In our Construction Accountant job you’ll be responsible for:

• Maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.

• Preparing and posting journal entries, including recurring, adjusting, and month-end entries.

• Performing monthly bank reconciliations and reconciling other external accounts and financial records.

• Recording and maintaining fixed asset transactions, including additions, disposals, and depreciation-related entries.

• Processing and recording daily banking transactions and ensuring accurate cash activity.

• Managing accounts payable functions, including invoice processing, coding, and payment preparation.

• Preparing and processing check runs while ensuring proper approvals and supporting documentation.

• Assisting with month-end and year-end close activities and related financial reporting.

• Assisting the Owner with the development, implementation, and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures.

• Assisting with the Company's annual budgeting process, including gathering financial information and preparing supporting schedules.

• Preparing and filing sales and use tax reports and maintaining compliance with applicable tax requirements.

• Performing manual payroll processing, including calculating payroll, deductions, and related payroll entries.

• Researching and resolving discrepancies in financial records, reconciliations, and transactions.

• Assisting with financial analysis, reporting, and other accounting-related projects as needed.

What you’ll need:

• 5+ years of accounting experience

• Construction industry experience REQUIRED

• QuickBooks Online experience REQUIRED
