Job Title: Accountant

Location: Houston, TX 77041

Shift: Monday–Friday | 8:00am-5:00pm

Pay: $40-$43 per hour

 

Are you an experienced Accountant looking for long contract role with a well known employer? We’re hiring an Accountant to join our client’s team for 10 months.

What You'll Be Doing:
 Finance Analysis

1. Identifies financial trends in the business and provides recommendations for improvement. 
2. Conducts detailed cost analysis by reviewing expenditures, evaluating cost drivers, and identifying areas for potential savings or efficiency improvements to support informed decision-making and optimize financial performance.
3. Prepares the Profit and Loss (P&L) and Balance Sheet section for the management pack, conducts overhead analysis, performs reconciliation of sales and profits and stock and Work In Progress (WIP) reconciliations.

Accounting

1. Manages accounts receivable by tracking and recording incoming payments, ensuring timely and accurate processing of customer invoices, and resolving any discrepancies to maintain a healthy cash flow.
2. Initiates and oversees the collections process by contacting customers with outstanding payments, negotiating payment arrangements, and employs effective communication and problem-solving skills to resolve overdue accounts and minimize financial risk.
3. Performs accurate financial record-keeping and maintains ledgers to ensure the integrity and compliance of financial data.
4. Conducts regular audits and reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial transactions and identify any discrepancies.
5. Creates and posts journal entries to accurately record financial transactions, ensuring proper classification and adherence to accounting principles.

Reporting

1. Conducts labor capacity analysis to assess workforce utilization, optimize staffing levels, and ensure alignment with operational demands, enhancing efficiency and resource allocation.
2. Compiles and generates detailed financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to provide comprehensive insights into the organization's financial performance.
3. Generates ad-hoc financial reports to meet specific analysis or information needs.
4. Updates and reports on fixed assets.
5. Performs job cost analysis, WIP aging analysis, slow moving inventory analysis and inventory turnover analysis.

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting 
• Full cycle accounting experience
• Experienced with reporting and P&L
• 5-7 years of full cycle accounting experience ??????
