Openwork is proud to partner with a powerful, mission-driven organization dedicated to changing the lives of youth in foster care. We’re seeking passionate, committed individuals who want to make a lasting, life-changing impact on young people striving toward brighter futures.
If you believe in the potential of every student—and want a role that blends mentorship, academics, and essential life-skills development—this is your moment to make a difference.
The Academic Coaching Program empowers youth and young adults (ages 14–25) who are currently in foster care or have aged out. Through personalized academic support and essential life-skill development—like organization, time management, and effective study strategies—students gain confidence, achieve academic success, and build a strong foundation for their futures.
This program serves a wide geographic region, including all of Harris County and 12 surrounding counties (Zip codes include 77088, 77051, 77091).
Reporting to the Volunteer Engagement Coordinator, you’ll be a key part of the student’s support system, delivering tutoring and skill-building services both individually and in groups.
Sessions may be in-person at Residential Treatment Centers, virtual, or a combination, based on each student’s needs.
All Academic Coaches receive training to ensure a high standard of service delivery.
A proprietary agreement will be required as part of onboarding.
