Now Hiring: 2nd Shift Industrial Saw Operator

Location: Houston, TX 77028

Shift: 2nd Shift | 5-6 Days per week | 2:30pm - 1:30am

Pay: $17/ hour (May consider more depending on experience)

 

Are you an experienced Industrial Saw Operator looking for a stable, full-time opportunity with room to grow? We’re hiring an Industrial Saw Operator to join our client’s team.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Always wear proper PPE and safety equipment when operating equipment
• Our client works with lead material so showering before leaving is REQUIRED to ensure safety as well as period blood testing for lead. 
• Comply with all Environmental, Safety, and Health Policies.
• Follow all Quality Management System Policies.
• Work with the supervisor to prioritize the work schedule.
• Verify pallet labels against the production schedule, including customer name and material type.
• Pull pallets from staging and place them on the saw using a forklift.
• Develop a saw plan to maximize material usage from blank sheets or plates.
• Verify pieces to cut before starting, report incomplete plans to the supervisor.
• Enter dimensions into saw controls and cut blanks to finished size.
• Perform dimensional verification (width, length, squareness) and piece count after cutting.
• Move finished cut pallets to the packaging staging area.
• Ensure parts are not damaged during stacking.
• Separate material drops and laminations by type into hoppers and color-code them.
• Weigh laminated material and attach weight tickets to required sheets.
• Complete the saw log and submit at the end of the shift.
  Load saw shavings into the hopper, weigh, and attach weight tickets.
• Move shavings and scrap material to designated areas.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

What We're Looking For:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience operating industrial saws or similar machinery preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Strong math, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to read a tape measure and interpret technical instructions.
• Proficient in forklift operation
• Ability to wear a respirator in ALL weather.
• Knowledge of machine operation principles.
