SIA's 2025 Fastest-Growing Staffing Firms

Across the sunbelt region of the US, Openwork is steadily growing both its footprint and reputation as a reliable and trusted staffing partner. Along with its sister companies, Aerospace Solutions and Openwork Health, Openwork serves a diverse industry portfolio including manufacturing, logistics, skilled trades, clerical and professional placements in the commercial sector as well as allied services and travel and local nursing in the healthcare space. With more than 285,000 job placements, Openwork’s growth trajectory has earned it a ranking on SIA’s 2025 Fastest-Growing US Staffing Firms list. (Openwork Health placed 47th on this year’s list with a compound annual growth rate of 29.5% on 2024 revenue of $11.8 million.)

Fertile Soil

While Openwork continues to grow, one thing has not changed: the firm’s strategy for how it does it. Taking a two-pronged approach, Openwork carefully considers both merger and acquisition opportunities as well as measured organic growth. Applied over time, this strategy reaps a steady return on investment that places Openwork for the third time on SIA’s Fastest-Growing Staffing Firms list.

Crystal Brooks, Openwork’s VP of sales and operations, likens the firm’s organic growth to that of a strawberry plant — slow and steady expansion across fertile soil. “We establish a presence and get to know the communities we serve, being very purposeful about investing in the right places at the right times.”

Likewise, Michelle Seelbinder, the company’s VP of people, shares the secret to sustainable acquisition growth: “We are not interested in fleeting growth. For it to be a viable opportunity, the culture of the prospective acquisition truly matters.”

Culture Is King

At Openwork, everything starts with the team. “Our culture is rooted in supporting the whole person,” Seelbinder explains. “We create a workplace where people feel supported, valued and able to thrive inside and outside of work.” From offering comprehensive and competitive benefits to tools for financial well-being — and even offering resources for pet owners — Openwork knows that caring for employees leads to employees who, in turn, care for their work.

Openwork also invests in employee development, offering training programs and learning pathways through Openwork University. Students explore skill building, role playing and best practices for emerging technology like artificial intelligence. “We need to live in the operating reality of our clients, which means we understand their world, their pain points, and how we can help them,” Brooks says.

Stephen Koch, Openwork’s VP of strategy and innovation, concurs: “We want our clients and talent to have a seamless user experience, starting with their first interaction with us. We leverage technology to automate routine administrative steps but look to quickly move the conversation to a personal connection.”

On the Horizon

Openwork plans continued and steady expansion. Paying close attention to market demand and forecasts, the firm is also leaning into relationship building with skilled trades industries and exploring ways to support their clients across industry verticals. “We focus on where we can partner with our clients,” says Koch. “If there is a need, we want to support them and respond quickly.”

Brooks sums it up well: “As long as we stay focused on people and keep them at the center of everything we do, we can’t lose.”
