SEEKING SEAMSTRESS/TAILOR FOR IMMEDIATE HIRE

Openwork is currently assisting a local client in search to fill a Seamstress/Tailor position in the Southeast area of Houston(77023). You will be responsible for demonstrating sound knowledge of various fabrics, and sewing techniques.  Ultimately, an outstanding Seamstress/ Tailor should be able to achieve exceptional customer service and ensure that all tasks are completed in a timely manner.  Apply today if you meet the qualifications listed below.

Schedule: 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday - Friday

Responsibilities for a Seamstress / Tailor job include:

• Accurately measuring customers using tape measures to ensure proper fit of garments.

• Altering or repairing customers' garments and other articles, which includes hemming, sewing patches, mending, lengthening, as well as taking in and letting out seams.

• Constructing garments and other articles according to customers’ specifications and preferences.

• Communicating with customers to determine their specifications, needs, and preferences.

• Using irons and pressing machines to erase the creases on garments and other articles.

• Ability to coordinate effectively as a team with a positive attitude 

Qualifications:

• 1 + years of recent Seamstress/ Tailor experience 

• Sound knowledge of various fabrics and sewing techniques.

• The ability to safely use Industrial sewing machines

• Effective communication skills.

• Detail-oriented.

• Excellent attendance and punctuality

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
