Openwork is currently assisting a local client whose clients are Foster Care Youth in their search to fill an Academic Coaching Program Tutor position throughout Houston and the greater Houston area.  As an Academic Tutor you will be responsible for working under the direction of the Manager of Foundation Initiatives to assist youth in the foster care system and providing face-to-face tutoring services at the youth’s residence.  Apply Now if you meet the qualifications listed below!

Responsibilities for this Academic Tutor job include:

• Provide face-to-face tutoring services a minimum of twice a week for 2 hours to youth in the foster care system at the youth's residence center. Services include assistance with class assignments as well as assisting youth in developing executive functioning skills.
• Ensure records are kept current and up to date.
• Be available for meetings, staffing, and trainings as needed.
• Some Saturday hours anticipated

Qualifications:

•  Bachelor’s degree
•  Reliable transportation
•  Valid Driver’s License and automobile insurance
• Must complete background check and drug screening

This is a great and meaningful part-time position with a pay rate of $40-50 based upon education an experience. The academic tutor will also be trained by a prestigious academic tutoring program to ensure youth receive consistent programming (Academic Tutor will be required to sign a proprietary agreement with the program).
