Location: Northeast Houston, TX
Pay: $18.00 – $21.00 per hour (Weekly Pay, based on experience)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | Day Shift | Overtime as needed

Position Overview

The Packaging Specialist plays a critical role in preparing finished materials for shipment by accurately following shop copies and packaging instructions. This position ensures product protection, dimensional accuracy, and compliance with both domestic and export shipping requirements. Success in this role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow all Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH) policies and Quality Management System (QMS) procedures

• Coordinate with the Packaging Lead to prioritize daily packaging schedules

• Review shop copies and verify materials received from saw operations

• Inspect products for dimensional accuracy and visual defects

• Clean materials and pallets prior to packaging

• Package rolled and flat products according to order requirements

• Ensure correct pallet size, weight, and protective materials are used

• Prepare crates and heat-treated pallets for export shipments as required

• Apply shrink wrap, banding, and labeling per customer specifications

• Remove saw cut tags and stage completed orders in the shipping area

• Maintain housekeeping standards in work and packaging areas

• Sort, weigh, and document scrap and laminated materials per procedure

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in packaging, manufacturing, or a related industrial environment

• Strong work ethic and self-motivation

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English

• Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods (up to 10 hours)

• Ability to frequently lift 50–75 lbs

• Willingness to wear required PPE throughout the shift

• Basic math skills and ability to read a tape measure accurately

• Forklift experience preferred (training and certification provided)

• Overhead crane experience is a plus, but not required
