Pay: $17.00 per hour (weekly pay, based on experience)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM | Overtime as needed

Openwork is partnering with a well-established, quality-driven metals manufacturing company in Northeast Houston to hire an experienced Packaging Specialist. Position Overview

As a Packaging Specialist, you will play a critical role in preparing finished materials for shipment. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will help ensure products are packaged safely, accurately, and efficiently for both domestic and export delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Package finished materials according to shop copies and detailed work instructions

  • Operate strapping, banding, shrink-wrap, and stretch-wrap equipment

  • Build and secure pallets, including blocking and dunnage, for domestic and export shipments

  • Verify pallet weight and dimensions using industrial scales and measuring tools

  • Accurately measure materials and packaging using a measuring tape

  • Safely operate a forklift to move, stage, and load materials

  • Inspect materials for quality, accuracy, and proper labeling

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all safety standards

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing or industrial experience

  • Experience operating packaging equipment and handling materials

  • Strong proficiency using and reading a measuring tape (skills testing required)

  • Forklift operation experience (certification preferred)

  • Ability to read work orders, follow instructions, and perform basic math

  • Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods

  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to workplace safety
