Openwork is currently engaged in a search to find a skilled Manufacturing Electrical Technician in Channelview TX.  In this demanding and rigorous role, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining mechanical and electrical apparatus, devices and circuits of any voltage in the grating plants.  Training on AM shift, with flexibility to work any shift based on business needs. In a Manufacturing Electrical Tech role you’ll be responsible for:

  • Various dismantles, inspects, repairs, adjusts and/or replaces faulty parts or wiring as required.
  • Have strong knowledge using various electrical testing instruments, power hand drills, grinders, drill press, bearing or gear pullers, soldering equipment, pipe tools.¬†
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment¬†
  • Analyzes jobs as required, plans working procedures to determine of efficient manner of making repairs in the safest manner minimizing interruption of production. Determine material or replace needed, as necessary and select a logical approach to "troubleshooting""
  • Experience with AC and DC motors and generators, transformers, circuit breakers, various electrical components, circuits and fittings, repair and replacement parts, mechanical and hydraulic equipment
  • Reassembles, tests and adjusts equipment for safe and proper operation.
  • Installation of conduit, fittings, switches, controls and fixtures
  • Plans and performs work requiring a working knowledge of electrical principles of operation and application of equipment
  • Mechanical repairs to equipment as assigned, such as hydraulic and pneumatic equipment; repairs and replaces bearings, springs, clutches, brakes, etc.
  • Designs and or creates circuit diagrams and or specifications & instructions for users.
  • Troubleshooting/diagnosing problems and determining the best way to correct them.
  • Blueprint reading, mechanical drawing, metalworking, drafting and quality and safety practices are highly recommended. ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬†

What you’ll need:

  • ¬†5 ‚Äď 7 years related industrial experience.

  • ¬†High school education. 2-year associate degree program at community or technical college¬†

  • ¬†Vocational school courses in mathematics and geometry, blueprint reading, mechanical drawing, metalworking, drafting¬†

  • Thorough knowledge of hydraulic and fluid systems, advanced electrical circuitry, and competent knowledge of PLC control systems
