CNC Mill Operator
Location: Houston, TX (Near Hobby Airport)
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 1st Shift (7:00 AM – 2:30 PM)
Type: Temp to Hire
Pay: $28–$30 per hour (based on experience)
Job Description:
A well-established oil & gas manufacturing company is seeking an experienced and dependable CNC Mill Operator to join its machining team. This role focuses on running CNC milling machines to produce precision oilfield components. The ideal candidate understands oilfield threading standards, and can work independently in a fast-paced shop environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and run CNC milling machines with minimal supervision
- Machine oil & gas accessories and components to tight tolerances
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Work with API, Premium threads, and other oilfield threading standards
- Edit and optimize CNC programs at the machine as needed
- Select proper tooling, speeds, and feeds
- Troubleshoot machining issues and ensure quality production
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of CNC milling experience in a machine shop
- Strong knowledge of CNC mill setup through production
- Experience machining oil & gas or other precision components
- Familiarity with oilfield threads and specifications
- Ability to run jobs independently from print to completion
- Experience editing CNC programs (G-code or conversational)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Fanuc, Okuma OSP, or similar controls
- Experience with 3-axis and 4-axis CNC mills
- Knowledge of oil & gas materials
