Openwork Staffing is seeking experienced, TCOLE-certified 911 Dispatchers to support public safety operations for Harris County in a part-time capacity. This opportunity is designed for professionals who already understand the demands of emergency communications and want to continue serving the community in a critical, high-impact role.
If you’ve worked the console, managed the pressure, and delivered calm, accurate responses when it mattered most, this role allows you to stay engaged, sharp, and purposeful—without a full-time schedule.
As a 911 Dispatcher, you’ll serve on the front line of emergency response, providing clear communication and decisive coordination to support law enforcement and public safety agencies.
Answer and process 911 and non-emergency calls with accuracy and professionalism
Dispatch units and coordinate responses with law enforcement agencies
Utilize CAD systems to document calls and support field operations
Conduct warrant and identity checks using TCIC/NCIC and OpenFox
Manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining composure and attention to detail
This position is open to experienced dispatch professionals only.
TCOLE Basic Telecommunicator Certification
Minimum of two years of law enforcement dispatch experience
Current CPR certification
High school diploma or GED
Experience with CAD, TCIC/NCIC, and OpenFox systems
Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency
Proven ability to perform effectively in high-pressure environments
Starting pay of $22 per hour, with higher rates available based on experience, certifications, and skill level
Up to 32 hours per week, with overtime opportunities available
Part-time schedule including weekends, holidays, and fill-in shifts
Temporary assignment with potential for ongoing placement
On-site work at Harris County’s communications facility in Southside Houston
