The Role

As a 911 Dispatcher, you’ll be the first point of contact for the community—answering and prioritizing both emergency and non-emergency calls. Your quick thinking and calm voice will help keep residents and first responders safe.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Fielding emergency and non-emergency calls with professionalism and accuracy

• Dispatching law enforcement units and coordinating with partner agencies

• Operating CAD systems to manage and track calls

• Running warrants and verifying identities through TCIC/NCIC and OpenFox

• Keeping detailed, organized records while balancing multiple priorities

What You Bring

• TCOLE Basic Telecommunicator Certification (required)

• 2+ years of law enforcement dispatch experience

• Current CPR certification

• High School Diploma or GED

Plus:

• Expertise with CAD, TCIC/NCIC, and OpenFox

• Composure under pressure and strong multitasking skills

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

Position Snapshot

• Pay: $22/hr+ based on experience and certifications

• Schedule: Flexible part-time shifts (up to 32 hrs/week) including weekends, holidays, and fill-in shifts

• Type: Temporary assignment with potential for long-term placement

• Location: On-site at Harris County’s law enforcement communications center
