Openwork is hiring on behalf of one of our valued clients in Taylor, TX. We are seeking a Quality Inspector who will plan and perform a variety of visual, mechanical, and electrical inspections to ensure that products, materials, and workmanship conform to drawings and specifications. This role involves evaluating product quality, conducting tests and inspections, and helping maintain consistent quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.

REPORTS TO:
Plant Quality Manager

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Read and interpret simple sketches, drawings, and diagrams. Capable of making mechanical measurements and using simple hand tools or instruments.

• Select proper instruments and apparatus, set up and conduct a sequence of tests and inspections on incoming and internally produced materials, parts, and components.

• Evaluate product deviations from quality standards and make judgments as to acceptability.

• Oversee review, audit, and inspection of products manufactured, as well as daily auditing of processes.

• Assist with reporting of data. Ensure data is accurately captured and documented. Monitor data for defect trends.

• Assist in quality investigations with interdepartmental teams to drive improvements for products and processes. Document investigations and results as necessary.

• Ensure policies and procedures of the company QMS program are consistently met.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Quality Manager.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• High school graduate.

• 3 years of manufacturing experience preferred.

• Working knowledge of Enterprise 1 Business System preferred.

• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Ability to perform simple arithmetic problems.

• Strong organizational and prioritization skills.

• Excel knowledge preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Frequent long periods of standing or sitting.

• Frequent bending and stooping.

• Lifting and carrying average to heavy weight (10–50 lbs.) materials or objects.

• Occasional pushing and pulling of materials or objects.

• Must pass physician-administered vision test.
